We have had all the hype and publicity blurbs over the last couple of years
is it worth bringing the grandkids down to see???
Now this is a serious questionfolks !!!!!!!!!!
lets have honest answers.
cos I might be bringing my grandkids down in the next week or two-----

Doctors differ and patients die. But, I don't think it would be interesting for young children. From about 12years I'd say they might be interested. The day i was there one woman had three smallish children and they were running around and squealing and thumbling on the floor and banging against glass cases.... driving us mad. The exhibition is facinating there is a lot to be read about each item. There are one or two interactive items for younger children like how to tie knots and a bell to ring but I would only bring the older ones and would have chatted to them beforehand giving some history of the place. Maybe, go yourself first and reconnoitre.

I would suspect a young child would loose interest very fast and spoil your visit. Think it is/was more adult or school trip orientated???. Maybe it has changed? Know my 2 children would not have "stayed easy" as they say.

Well I visited the Museum today with my grandson.
I think all I will say about the visit is that we got free passes for when the 2nd floor opens very shortly.

Did you read the advice from last month?
I wouldn't bring the younger ones they would be bored silly. Go back with another adult and it will be a different experience.

My grandson enjoyed it so did I
he walked around the Museum with the quiz form and took it all in.
one of the guys there very helpful and answered any queries .
but until the second level opens -there is very little in it.
so as the guy said within a a couple of weeks .
OK
we got our free return passes.
I am not complaining and did take on the advice given by Rocker -so my granddaughter did not come.

Its not much use sitting outside the Mariners Museum is it?
at least years ago when we were kids and the mine was at the end of the east pier
we could put a penny or two in it (if the Ma or Da had any change)
or failing that when they wer'nt looking you could shove your icepop stick into it

Went to see the Maritime Museum to-day. Upstairs was open there was Lloyds Register for 1913 showing Titanic Registration and a couple of other bits.

Now for the funny incident - a lady got locked in the lavatory - no kidding. Three men were trying shouting to her through the door giving direction on how to open the door. It was thought to be a Spanish student so one man was giving instructions in Spanish, another suggested a screw driver was needed, the third shouted in slow English. The Cashier told me the maintance man was over in the coffee shop but she couldn't leave the register to go and get him - I obliged. Found 'The Man' and told him three men and a screwdriver were trying to free a person from the loo, so he took off to assist. God help the poor woman when the door was eventually opened being confronted by 4 men she must have thought they were mad she was English speaking. All this was recorded by a young boy who was visiting from Belfast, he told me he was going to put it on Utube!
